Adolf Hitler was born in Braunau an inn, April 20th 1889. So yes, Hitler was born in Austria-Hungary. Hitler had a close bond with his mother and a tense relationship with his father. Hitler's father died when Hitler was 13 years old. 4 years later, his mother died of breast cancer leaving Hitler heart broken. This was when Hitler's education was limited. 16 years later, Hitler moved to Vienna, living in poverty. Believe it or not, Hitler always had dreams of becoming an artist. During his years in Vienna, Hitler was exposed to the anti-Jewish sentiment and exposed to the belief in the purity of Germans. This is what later shaped Hitler's life. In ww1, Hitler served in the German army. He was blinded by a gas attack and had to watch the defeat of Germany from his hospital bed. After ww1 Hitler then became very politically active. He joined "The Germans Worker Party" in 1919. Later on, this became the Nazi party. Hitler rose rapidly to the top of the party. In November 1923, Hitler launched a sudden violent and illegal seizure of power from government. This was known as "The Beer Hall Putsch." This attempt failed and Hitler was imprisoned. During his imprisonment, Hitler wrote a book called "Mein Kampf" This book outlined Hitler's ideology. When Hitler was released from jail, he was appointed chancellor under the German president Hindenburg. Upon Hindenburg's death, Hitler became the Fuhrer. As the leader, Hitler then carried on with his anti-Jewish beliefs that he learned in Vienna. Hitler put strict controls against the Jews and turned Germany into a war machine. In September 1939, Nazi Germany began ww11. After a long and hard fought war, the Germans were eventually overcame and they formally surrendered in May of 1945. On April 30th upon their capture, Hitler, along with his wife Eva Brown, committed suicide in Hitler's bunker.
